Car was running well with the new turbo installed, still need a retune for the fixed vacuum leak the car was still running a little rich to the point I replaced the plugs twice before the event, but due to Martin being out of town it made things a little time pressing. Getting the ok for cracked windshield from Steve I headed out to Orlando. Once arriving at CFRC I swapped tires and stunned in awe at all the sweet drift cars I would get to tandem with I checked my fluids and proceeded to grid after talking to Sammy Tiger.
Had plenty of power. 2nd Gear burnouts were easily achieved and tire pressure was dropped to 25 psi due to compound and needed the extra grip considering they were used. (245/40/18 Michilin Pilot Sports) First couple runs in I had to shake down the car a little and spun my first entry. The new course layout was fun but longer sweeper than I was expecting. I got the entry down second pass and improved the second and third run following. Then I led tandem with Eric Conkling my little 16 year old aspiring young blood coming up in the ranks.

In grid I noticed my car starting to sound like a tractor...I knew the sound well, but I was convinced it may be my T2 Flange gasket...could it have shaken loose at last weeks Desoto visit????
One more run following the power loss had become apparent.
So I pulled it off the track and discovered...

The wastegate flange gasket blew out on me leaving me with little power on the straights and double clutch kicks to keep power on the sweeper...
Luckily Pit neighbor Tyler Leonne had a T3 Ebay Turbo manifold in his truck in hopes to sell, he let me have the 38 mm wastegate gasket so waited for my car to cool down from the hand melting temperature to change it quickly to get back on the track.
After a quick boost from Marshall and Mensah I installed the gasket, changed to a grippier set of Hankook tires and just like before dropped them to 25 to hopefully keep up with the sponsor guys with new grippy tires.
With the power back in full roar I did a good 5 passes before the car started to get slower again...
The wastegate flange gasket had blown AGAIN
The studs mustve shaken loose from the heat. and since I was out of luck this time I tighetened down the wastegate one more time and continue to compete with the gasket leak.
The power loss was tremendous but I made due as an underpowered. Imagine T2 Gasket blown out power loss.
I finished two more runs and finally came to the conclusion that I needed to pull the car off and prepare for next time. I had fun today and the lack of angle mods taught me a few things on this newly renovated CFRC Drift park course.

I really want some new tires.
